JOMC 256: Previewing and reviewing

So I did a preview for veterans being guests at the State of the Union Address a week or so ago and now my review is going to be the veteran reaction to the address. I've covered what they expected to hear, now I'd like to cover what they thought about what they did hear. And I'd like to get reactions from servicemembers who watched it on television as well, not just those who attended the address.

As far as examples of reviews that I like or aspire to be like, I've always loved Food Beast's reviews of food products, innovations, etc. They just have a light-hearted comedic value to the reviews that I as a reader enjoy. And their reviews aren't formal, they're inherently informal, especially their video review of the Soda Stream product.

I'm not really much for reviews in general. When I'm shopping online or thinking of making a big purchase I'll Google search for consumer reviews, but I've never been the one to subscribe to media reviews on things like arts and entertainment, even for movies and music. For input on things like that, I usually turn to word of mouth from friends instead of media reviews. But that's just me personally.

I'm sure there are reviews of the SOTU address I could look up and attempt to emulate with my specific audience in mind, but I'd rather write my own first and then see how it matches up with others.
