Police continue search for missing Fort Bragg soldier Kelli Bordeaux

Investigators will begin focusing on collected evidence and interviews as the search continues for Fort Bragg soldier Kelli Bordeaux, who has been missing for more than two weeks.

Nephew of retired Fort Bragg soldier arrested in connection with his uncle's murder

After a multi-county search on Saturday, Charles Crampton, 21, is in police custody.


Crampton had been named a person of interest in the murder of his uncle, retired Fort Bragg soldier Robert Blizzard. 


When sheriff's deputies were called to Blizzard's home on Wolfe Lee Drive on Friday, they found him dead inside. 


While no information has been released in connection to cause of death, deputies say they are treating the case as a homicide.


Crampton was found and arrested in Onslow County on Saturday morning. He was driving the victim's car and had a weapon.


Crampton is being held on charges of motor vehicle theft and was brought back to Cumberland County on Saturday to await further proceedings.

8 soldiers in Afghanistan bullying case to be court-martialed at Fort Bragg

A U.S. Army officer and 7 other soldiers accused of bullying Pvt. Danny Chen, who later killed himself in Afghanistan, have been officially charged according to Fort Bragg officials. 

Fort Bragg soldier killed in Afghanistan

A Fort Bragg-based soldier has died in Afghanistan, according to the U.S. Department of Defense. 

Military officials say Pfc. Christian R. Sannicolas died April 28 in the Kandahar province of Afghanistan.

Sannicolas was 20 years old, from Anaheim, Calif. 

Officials say Sannicolas died of injuries received when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device. 

Sannicolas was assigned to 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division.

Military wives connect to rescue shelter dogs

While their servicemembers are away during deployments or training, military wives are left with the brunt of maintaining their careers, families and households. But one group of military wives are reaching out even further, to give solace to shelter dogs.


Military wives make up most of the volunteer group, Fosters 4 Furbutts, an organization committed to saving animals about to be euthanized at county shelters. The group has been rescuing dogs since September.
